Introduction :
The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, Department of Labour is committed for the welfare of the working class. To cater to the welfare needs of the working class, the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi extended the provisions of “Bombay Labour Welfare Fund Act-1953” to National Capital Territory of Delhi. The Delhi Labour Welfare Board has been constituted under the provisions of this Act. The Board is an Autonomous Body of the Department of Labour, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. The Board has adequate representation from employers, employees, women and Government. The Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi has notified “Delhi Labour Welfare Fund” for funding the welfare schemes run by the Delhi Labour Welfare Board.
Objects :
The object of the Delhi Labour Welfare Board is to cater the welfare of work force of National Capital Territory of Delhi by launching various welfare schemes, such as:
- Vocational training to the family members of the workers.
- Free Legal Aid facilities.
- Library-cum-Reading Room.
- Awareness program on HIV/AIDS and other social issues.
- Organizing Seminars/Workshops for creating awareness about the rights of the workers and other social issues.
- Cultural programs.
- Blood Donation Camps.
- Medical Camps and Health check-up Melas
- Crèche at Basti Vikas Kendra.
